IIPP Safety Plans

Employers are obligated to provide a safe and healthy work place for employees. We can help you comply with the requirements for doing this.

In California, you must have a written Illness & Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) even if you only have one employee. This plan involves the following components:

  • Evaluating your existing safety efforts
  • Establishing company policy for safety
  • Developing a code of safe work practices
  • Employee training
  • Supervisor training
  • Creating and maintaining a safety committee
  • Conducting regular safety inspections
  • Correction of unsafe working conditions or practices
  • Investigating accidents
  • Documenting all of your efforts

You may need additional safety compliance requirements depending on your industry and the potential hazards or risks in your workplace:

  • Ergonomics Plan, if you’ve had more than one employee diagnosed with the same Repetitive Motion Injury (RMI) within a 12-month period (CA)
  • Hazard Materials Communication Program
  • Policy prohibiting violence in the workplace
  • Workplace Emergency Plans
  • Respiratory Protection Program
  • Hearing Conservation Program
